Design
Most of us don’t have a clue about how they want their life to look like tomorrow let alone 5 years from now.
Our system to earn the life we want starts with the vision. If you haven’t already clearly defined your vision for the future I walk you through it in day 1 of my 5 day email course

Habits
Think back to the last time you took a vacation, when you woke up every morning of that vacation you knew exactly what you were going to be doing that day.
Taking those daily actions would lead to a vacation you’d remember for the rest of your life. If you neglected to do the fun things while on vacation you’d feel like you’d wasted your trip.
If we apply the same thinking when it comes to reaching our goals we would wake up with purpose.
The quality of your life is determined by the quality of your habits. If you’ve put good habits in place we’ll reach the goals we’ve set for ourselves in time.
We’ll break down our vision from the design phase into goals and further break those goals into no more than 3 habits that we will do daily.
Let’s say one of your goals is to gain muscle mass and increase your weight by 10 pounds.
After doing your research and establishing which macros & how many calories you need to consume daily along with a training regiment 3 habits you could incorporate into your system could be.
- Eating the correct foods for breakfast, lunch, & dinner
- Training in the gym 4 days a week for 1 hour a day
- Sleeping 8 hours a night to promote recovery & muscle growth.
Lastly, we need to schedule time to perform the habit. It doesn’t matter how great your system is if you don’t take the time to perform the tasks that are going to get us to our goals.
Dedicate an appropriate amount of time to reaching your goals daily but keep in mind you don’t need to let the new goal dominate your day.
If you plan to lift weights for an hour set an hour time limit for yourself to leave after an hour has passed. This may not be a problem for everyone but as a person who tends to get carried away by the task at hand it may be important to define an end time so you can get on with your life.
Review
The third and most important step when building your system is to hold yourself accountable.
If New Years resolutions have taught us anything it’s that we have no problem starting a task, it’s two weeks later when the task looses its luster that we start to slack off & fall back into our old ways.
The best way to combat this is to track your habits daily.
- Calendar
- Habit tracking app
Remember being perfect isn’t the goal, making progress is. Make a game of it. Make sure you never go two consecutive days without exercising your habit.
Once a week we need to make sure we’re still headed in the correct direction.
Some questions to ask yourself:
- Where are you in relation to reaching your goals?
- Are you still on track?
- How is progress going?
- What’s working?
- What isn’t working?
- What are your biggest barriers?
- How can we overcome them?
- What is coming easy to you & how can you use it in relation to reaching your goal?
