Experience is often the best teacher. In some cases it’s good to plan meticulously to reach the outcome you want but in most cases the most effective way to see if something will work or not is to try.
That’s why I use the scientific method to structure different types of experiments to build a life I choose for myself.

Ask a Question, A Good Question
The quality of your solutions depends on the quality of questions we ask ourselves.
There may be no stupid questions but better questions begets better thinking & will lead to better results.
Research Pitfalls and Ways You Can Potentially Fail
Whether you’re planning a vacation or a trip to the store one of the most important aspects is to plan how to to get to the destination.
Using the scientific method we need to find what tools we’re going to need to reach our goals along with the knowledge of how we could potentially fail so we’ll have a higher probability of avoiding said failure.
Hypothesize
Make an educated prediction.
Experiment
This is where we put our research into practice.
The results we uncover will help us grow our skills or make better decisions going forward.
Analyze and Draw Conclusions or Learning Experiences
When the experiment has concluded we reflect on what we’ve learned as a result of the experiment.
We dive into why the experiment did or didn’t work and what we learned.
Review Results
The results of our experiments help us make more data driven decisions in the future.
The results are measured against our hypothesis and either affirm or deny it.
